1st favorite video in terms of cinematography, mise-en-scene and editing.
This is my 1st favorite video because i love how the whole video is edited in black and white and the fact that the video is set on the beach and Beyonce has the ability to dance in the water. I like this mise-en-scene because she looks better when she's wet and the way she's dressed; in a bikini and a thin layer of a black dress shows of her curves. There's also, a scene where she comes out of some smoke which is a good shot of her that makes her look sexy. She looks incredibly good when she stats dancing and the light is always on her face, which means that shes the main attraction to the audience.
I also, love the light on her face in this scene, as it shows that everything should be concentrated on her face along with her body because it shows her beautiful features.
When it comes to cinematography I love how the camera always tilts up and down her body to show it off which has an effect on the boys especially because she has a good body to show for especially after her baby born. There's also, a tracking shot of her body when she's on the sand on all fours and and we get a lot of close ups of her face when she's singing. That way we see her facial expressions whether their serious or whether she's trying to look sexual in a way.
The editing is done very well because we see a lot of dissolves of Beyonce either dancing and then a dissolve of her touching her neck or body. Since, she's doing that in a sexual effect it has a huge effect on the male audience because Laura Mulvey would say it's to do with the "male gaze." The dissolves are also, slow so we get to see her body and then a slow dissolve onto another part of her body so, the audience get to see it for longer especially if she was moving in the last shot before the dissolve.
