How Katy Perry uses pop videos to reinforce her brand and reflect her private life.

In this music video we see Katy Perry getting off the stage straight after filming the California Girls music video and going off to her room to get changed but, just as we see her leave she smiles to the stage guy and says "bye". She isn't flirting but being herself and friendly. Since, during her divorce time with Russell Brand she's becoming one of the girls again and going back to being herself. As she takes of her wig, she smiles at herself, showing us that she's happy for going back to her true self.
As she enters the dark place we see that her clothing is still abit revealing but not much, and the dress colours are dark and gloomy, as if she's grieving. As she takes the strawberry, it reminds us of Adam and Eve and how Katy Perry is saying sorry to her fans due to the strawberry being a sin.When she pushes the walls apart that wanted to clse her in, we get a reference to her last song firework as they shoot up in the air once she's used her power to push the walls away. There's a little girl during the video that looks a bit like Katy which is referring her to her innocent self as a child. She wears a nude dress which shows her purity and the butterfly is symbolic of her being trapped and then her spirt being released. She has got back her freedom and gone back to her fans where she used the ending of this video to release her new film 'Part of me'.
